Welcome back to the second ever Add 2 Cart Sunday Circular, where I show you all the things I want to buy, and you can judge me for it.
I like to think of shopping as something of a Rorschach test where you use the items a person wants to acquire as little clues as to where their brains are at. So, take a gander at this list, and diagnose me accordingly (bipolar and delusions of grandeur?).
Also: I’m excited to say I have a few great reported stories in the pipeline, one dropping sometime this week. I’m still trying to get a more consistent publishing cadence going, so I appreciate your patience as I work out all the kinks. It’s tough to juggle this with regular work, plus I was on vacation. Needless to say, I’m working on some stuff that I’m really excited about, and I hope you like them when I send them out. And, as always, if you like what I’m doing, feel free to subscribe, upgrade to paid, and/or share this with anyone who you think may enjoy it.
Now, onto the main event…
Miu Miu Checked Shirt, $1,650
My boyfriend—who has impeccable taste—recently told me he was, due to work obligations, perusing the Miu Miu site and that he wanted a lot of stuff. Well, yes, duh, welcome to my world. He called out the shirts specifically, and I have to agree, they are kinda a great late-summer-to-early-fall vibe and can be worn open over a tank now, and buttoned up, maybe under a sweater later. The logo label may turn some people off, but I’m a label whore so I like it.
Marni Navy Cargo Pants, $384 from $1,095
Guys, I have something to admit. My favorite New York show from the fall/winter 2025 season was … Coach. Mainly, I liked how Stuart Vevers gave us one big idea and repeated it ad nauseam until I was beat into submission. For Coach that idea was a big-ass baggy pant and a tiny little T-shirt (sometimes with a big coat on top). It was just … a silhouette I could get my mind around. So when I saw these Marni cargos on United Apparel Liquidator’s website (I mentioned this place briefly in my post about sarongs) … it felt in line with that. I could see wearing these with a tight/small T or even a slim sweater. The elastic waistband and color are nice details too. And, well, they’re on sale—what’s not to love?
Phoebe Philo Jacket With Attachable Scarf, $9,350
Oh man, this jacket is just so good. Even though leather jacket season is a ways off, I have been thinking that one gorgeous buttery leather jacket will make my winter bearable, my life worth living. In fact, last year I bought a leather Supreme x Dickies hooded leather jacket and … I wore the hell out of it, 10/10 would recommend. But, in this case, Mama Phoebe gave us a banger, not that we’d ever doubt her. Great proportions, terrific color, has a bit of a Member’s Only feel, but also has the attachable scarf which adds a some drama … Is this price insane? Yes. Would I happily sell an organ to buy it? Also yes.
Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Sawyer Sneakers, $1,150
As I’ve written about before, I’m obsessed—like, really obsessed—with the Vans checkerboard slip-on. It’s the perfect shoe, in my estimation, never to be beat. Relatedly, I love when brands make a very fancy version of an everyday item—yes, like a flip-flop but, but also like Prada’s four-figure take on the Carhartt jacket or that Balenciaga Ikea bag. So imagine my delight when I came across this Bottega Veneta sneaker, which deftly uses the label’s signature woven Intrecciato motif to basically recreate the Vans slip-on! Now, real talk is I think the proportions might be a smidge off (it looks a bit too flat), and, heck, I ain’t dropping a grand on these anyway … but, if I were a rich man … baby, I’d add 2 cart.
Enjoy Tattoos ‘Life’s a Beach’ Long Sleeve T-shirt, $70
I guess it’s not the craziest notion, but tattoo parlors often make pretty good clothes. I mean it goes without saying that most tattoo artists obviously have a way with graphics and imagery. Austin Maples is a beloved artist out of LA who owns Enjoy Tattoos, a parlor in Highland Park, and he makes some great stuff, including some hoodies that I will try to feature when it’s a bit colder out. In the meantime, this tee goes hard.
Vintage Carhartt Double-Knee Pants, $150
As I’m sure you’re starting to glean, I’m something of a serial buyer. As in, I like certain types of things and then just buy them on repeat. Double-knee Carhartts are one of those things—a habit that started, probably, in the early days of the pandemic. Now, at any given time, I probably have 6-8 of pairs (I like to sell things almost as much as I like to acquire them, preferably on a stoop in Brooklyn on a beautiful day in the spring or fall). I currently have a few in black, green, and brown but no gray! These are kinda perfect, though my dream waist size is a 32 (so they sit a little loose on the hips).
Vintage Les Mis Sweatshirt circa 1988, ~$65
I am currently in the midst of a Broadway Merch Summer™. I have what I consider is the Holy Trinity of Broadway T-shirts in my circulation:Cats, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables, all acquired for reasonable prices on Depop, eBay, or Grailed. I actually have two Phantoms and two Les Mis’s because I initially thought they’d be fun gym T-shirts, but once I got them I promoted them to “real life” and needed gym versions too. Anyway, now I’m trying to extend this moment and am seeking sweatshirt versions. Many are out there, but this Les Mis sweatshirt feels especially good. I just thought you should know!
Audios. I just unsubscribed.
